1. How long is the lifetime for battery of filter?
Reply: The lifetime of battery differs for different filter models.
for filters with built-in battery(non-replaced battery), normally its lifetime is around 5years with correct operating.
for filters with replaced battery, normally the battery need to be replaced after the filter is used for 2-5 years with correct operating(the time of replacing is different for different models)
The meaning of correct operating:
A: when welding process is finished,the sensitivity of filter should be adjusted into low position or the helmet should be packed into color box to avoid the filter is darkening too long (at working state),which will cause the energy of battery wasted unnecessarily.
B:Keeping clean of solar cells and front cover lens on the filter and replacing the obscure front cover lens in time.
2. Which position is the best one for sensitivity adjustment?
Reply: The knob of sensitivity should be adjusted to as high as possible, then the filter can be darkening at the soonest and can work smoothly under low current welding. If there is an interference of light, the sensitivity of filter should be adjusted to a little bit LOWER to make the filter free of light interference
3. Why can not the filter be at stable state under TIG low current welding?
Reply:the filters of different model have different reaction appearance under TIG low current welding, but the general method of adjusting is the same. When the filter is unstable, flashing under working state, the sensitivity of filter should be adjusted into High position, the delay time knob(switch) should be adjusted into suitable longer position.
4. Why does the switching time of darkening for filter go slow?
Reply: the filter can be adjusted from the following three points
to adjust the sensitivity into high position
to check if the sensors of sensitivity are soiled or the front cover lens is soiled, replacing soiled front cover lens in time.
to replace the lithium battery (for the filter with replaced battery)
If the filter still can not work normally when you adjust the filter based on the above three points, please stop using this welding helmet and replace the filter.
5. Why can’t the filter work normally?
Reply:a: to check if the switch of weld/grind is at welding position
b: to check if there is enough energy for the battery(for the filter with replaced battery)
c: to adjust the sensitivity into high position
d: to check if the protective film have been removed.
e: to check if the sensors and front cover lens are soiled, replacing soiled front cover lens in time.
If you check all points as above mentioned, and the problem still can not be solved, please stop using this helmet and replace new filter.
6 Will the UV/IR ray damage the eyes when welding?
Reply: the filters can filter UV/IR ray effectively when it is at both state (light state and dark state), more than 99.99956% of UV ray can be filtered and 99.986% of IR ray can be filtered, so the filter can protect eyes safely from the damage of UV/IR ray no matter the filter is at any state (light state and dark state). But if the filters can not be darkening when welding, the strong arc may damage the eyes.
